XavierWe use Creative Curriculum as our philosophy of learning. We believe that children learn best from their interactions with each other. Centers for exploration include art, music, blocks, a sensory table, table top toys, dramatic play, library, cooking experiences, and discovery. Children are assessed twice a year; once in the fall and again in the spring. The PALS screening, which is a Virginia literary screening, allows the teacher to know more about a child’s ability in the areas of name writing, alphabet recognition, letter sounds, and rhyming. This assessment follows the child as they enter the school system. This allows us to analyze data and make improvements in our program as needed.
